12 Ways to Use Frankincense Essential Oil

Frankincense is by far one of my favorite oils. It’s one of the most sacred oils to me, as it's mentioned over 100 times in the bible and was one of the first gifts given to baby Jesus. Can you imagine that back then Frankincense was a gift worthy for a king? If it was good enough for Jesus, it’s good enough for me!

As a Catholic the oil can sometimes have such a familiar scent that reminds me of church and anointing. But even though I can sometimes make this comparison, I also find the scent to be clean and peaceful. It’s not an overbearing scent and is extremely grounding and peaceful.

This oil is truly a gem to have in your arsenal because it has SO many uses. From cleansing the skin to amping up your beauty routine and more, you’ll find this to be one of your most used oils. For ways to use this oil, check out some of my favorite uses below!

Ways to Use Frankincense Essential Oil
  1. Make your own skin remedies! Ever dealt with stubborn diaper rash? Eczema? Dermatitis? Or how about just your own stretch mark cream for the glowing mama? By simply applying straight to the skin or mixing with some coconut oil, you can create a jar of your own salve to apply to all the things! Add in some Lavender and you’re all set for healthy, clear skin.

  2. Sleep tight! Diffuse Lavender and Frankincense or make a cream to apply to the bottoms of your feet with some coconut oil and it may be lights out for you. This cream worked wonders on my infant and later we just diffused the two oils to help settle him at night. Use on adults and children.

  3. Boost your immune system. Wanting to make your own immune boosting roll on? Or a wellness stick for when you’re feeling under the weather? Frankincense is a wonderful oil for your immune health, so we pair it with Thieves and Lemon to roll on the bottoms of our feet and back of our spine for strong immune systems. Diffuse the heck out of the three oils when you’re dealing with any sickness within the home.

  4. Meditate with it. Because Frankincense has long been used within church and for anointing, it’s a strong oil that is related to “grounding” and can be used for yoga, meditation, prayer time and more.

  5. Bye Bye Scars. Use Frankincense topically to help decrease the appearance of scars. No matter how old the scar may be, apply a couple times a day for a few months and you’ll see results. Same goes for age spots!
