Why would someone birth out an organ and think “mmm tasty?” As it turns out, placenta encapsulation isn’t gross and the more you learn about it, the more intriguing it becomes.

Placenta Encapsulation

Most women have heard about placenta encapsulation, either from Kim Kardashian or another woman who chose to encapsulate. It seems like more and more women are making the decision to encapsulate!

Why though? Why would someone birth an organ and think “mmm tasty?" As it turns out, placenta encapsulation isn’t gross and the more you learn about it, the more intriguing it becomes.

Placenta encapsulation is the process of dehydrating the placenta, grinding it, and packing it into capsules for consumption. There is no taste and they look just like any vitamin.

It is said that placenta encapsulation has the potential to increase milk supply, increase energy levels, and may decrease instances of postpartum depression. There are numerous other blogs that go in depth about these benefits, so let's focus on some benefits rarely talked about.

The secret to receiving these benefits is to have your placenta processed in your home!

Seriously.

By having your placenta processed in your home, you not only remove any doubt about how your placenta was handled and processed, you also open yourself up to an endless possibility of benefits.

I can not tell you how many times I have walked into a home to process a placenta and the mother is in agony because her breasts are engorged or she has a clogged duct. I am able to sit with her and offer suggestions on relieving the engorgement or releasing the clogged duct before it turns into something more serious.

There have been times that I walk into a home and the sink is filled with dishes. Let’s be honest, life with a newborn can be challenging. Cleaning the kitchen typically is not on the top of your to do list (or at least it wasn’t on mine when I had my baby). No matter if your sink is sparkling clean when I walk in or if you have dishes spilling out onto the counter tops, by the time I walk out of that door, the dishes will be done and your kitchen will be clean.

Sometimes, the dad is back at work and our client just wants a few minutes of alone time. So, while I wait on my equipment to finish sanitizing, I take care of the baby so she can take a quick shower with the knowledge that her baby is being taken care of by a skilled professional.

If you are having trouble nursing, I am there to help.

If you need help learning how to cloth diaper or use that new baby carrier, I am there to help.

If you need a snack or a glass of water, I am there to prepare it and bring it to you.

You get to ask questions or observe the process if you wish.

When I leave you with your happy baby, clean kitchen, and newly transformed placenta, you will have zero doubts about what you are getting in those capsules. You will be free to enjoy the continued benefits of placenta encapsulation long after I leave.
