Some of Our Favorites from TAN Books

TAN books has been around for such a long time and has become so well known in the world of Catholic books, materials and spiritual guidance. Whether it is a book for the mother, beautiful books for children, materials for homeschooling families or a daily prayer book, TAN has a beautiful collection of nearly everything you can imagine.

What I love about TAN is that even as a “small” business, though they are very well established and highly esteemed, they frequently run sales to help get their books into the hands of the faithful out there - in essence spreading Jesus with the whole world.

In this season of life that I am in, I am often in the middle of a few books, and it is almost always a TAN book. I find that if I’m going to use my time to read, I rather it be something that draws me closer to Christ and helps me grow in my parenting, my faith and my holiness. There is such a a wide variety of books with TAN, you really can’t go wrong.

Check out my favorites below AND take advantage of the end of their 40% off everything sale - the annual Saint Benedict’s sale! As always, my favorite book from there is the one I talk about the most. “Mother to Mother” is a must have for all mamas, Catholic or not.

Here you will see some beautiful books for prayer time, my personal favorites are A Year with the Bible, Know Thyself and the Imitation of Christ.

Below is a book stack that we have used and loved in our homeschooling. I love having my oldest read about the saint, in particular the ones we are studying each quarter with Catholic Schoolhouse. This series by Mary Windeatt is just perfect! Pioneers and Patriots is a must have for American history and we love Phillip Campbell and his work. This chemistry set was very wonderful - I loved how it really makes our faith and science come together so well.

These children books are just stunning. We love books by Katie Warner and all of these pictured are just favorites on the bookshelves. Oremus is a great way to continue to teach the traditional Catholic prayers in Latin.

These are wonderful for the home and I adore The Liturgy of the Land for Catholic homesteading and homemaking.

Last but not least, these two books here are insanely good and perhaps my favorites. “Mother to Mother” has been my favorite read to date as a mother and in my opinion, this book is also well suited for any Christian mother, not just Catholics. The nuns really take time to answer some of the most popular questions on motherhood and the answers are so deep and full of so much wisdom, as there can be such a great comparison of motherhood and spiritual motherhood. Lastly, I am currently reading “The Anti Mary Exposed,” and again, I think this is a book for all women, not just Catholics. It’s a wonderful look at how far society has moved from the traditional woman in every way from life, jobs, dress and more.
