Little Bug is ONE

Today is your first birthday.

Mama can't quite believe how fast the year flew by.

Some mamas are sad when their baby turns one, but I'm not really sad today.

I am so

happy

that I got to see you grow up each and every day.

I have spent most all of the days in your first year with you, for nearly every minute as well.

I have seen you grow from this little dark haired, extremely tan baby into this

beautiful

little toddler with chubby cheeks and too many leg rolls to count.

I have seen you discover the world slowly and surely.

I've witnessed your first word, your first steps,

the first time you stood on your own and the first smile you ever gave.

I'm so

blessed

that I have been able to spend all of those moments with you.

You have taken many, many naps on my chest and you have cuddled close to me

while I rocked you for what seemed like

forever

.

You have clung to me many times and you have always yearned for mama's comfort.

I have nursed you each and every day for the last 365 days and it has been such a sweet journey.

I have seen you become a

Daddy's girl

and I have seen the sparkle in your eye.

I have seen you splashing in the bath tub and drinking the bath water while daddy bathes you.

And I have seen you just chilling on side of daddy while he watches football.

We have read many, many stories and many of them numerous times.

We have played

peek a boo

quite a bunch and we have even built forts and block towers.

We have eaten muffins together and shared pancakes and we have had many breakfast dates with Daddy.

Watching you grow and discover the world has been the best blessing I could ever ask for.

Seeing the world through your eyes is the most wonderful thing.

Hearing you laugh from deep in the belly and seeing you clap with a big smile

when I tell you, "No" warms my heart and makes me smile too

(except I can't always show you just how cute you are when you're being rotten).

This has been the best year of my life.

This is what life is all about -- creating a family.

My life is just beginning and oh how I am so excited to watch the journey.

I can't wait for another year, and another and so on...

I can't wait to watch you grow into who you are meant to be.

Just do me a favor, don't grow too fast.

And always come cuddle with Mama.

Happy First Birthday Bug!

We love you to the moon and back.

Times infinity, plus one.

"I love you infinitely"
